An ERP touches invoicing, stock, accounting and payroll, so changing software every two years is expensive. Before you compare demos, agree internally on what you need, then ask every vendor these twelve questions. They apply to any ERP, ours included.
Ask to see it on a real invoice: VAT at 19%, 13% and 7%, stamp duty, withholding tax on purchases and sales, and a chart of accounts that follows the Tunisian accounting system (SCE). If the answer is “we can configure that”, ask who configures it and what it costs.
Since the 2026 finance law extended the obligation to services, this question concerns more and more companies. Check that the software produces compliant invoices and handles signing and archiving, and ask for a demo. Our article E-invoicing in Tunisia summarises the legal framework.
If you have employees, payroll is often the most delicate module. Have a real payslip calculated during the demo.
Your field teams, your accountant and your customers don't always use the same language. Check the printed documents too: invoices, delivery notes and payslips.
A cloud ERP needs a connection. If you are often cut off, or you work alone on one computer, desktop software that keeps running offline may suit you better. See our comparison Cloud ERP or desktop software.
List your processes (sales, purchasing, stock, production, projects, point of sale) and check that you can start small and add modules later without changing software.
Many ERP systems charge per user, so the budget doubles when the team doubles. Ask for a written quote for your current headcount and for your headcount in two years, including setup, training and data migration.
Ask how to export your data (customers, items, journal entries) and in which format. A good contract guarantees you can take your data with you.
Hosting country, backups, encryption, two-factor authentication, audit log: ask for precise answers. Remember your own obligations on personal data under Organic Law No. 2004-63.
Items, customers, suppliers and opening balances: migration is often the most underestimated line in the budget. Get it quoted.
API, Excel import, online shop, WhatsApp, payment terminal: list everything that must talk to the ERP.
Ask for support hours, channels (phone, email, WhatsApp) and what onboarding includes. And ask to speak to an existing customer.
Nexora ERP is our cloud ERP, built for Tunisian tax rules: 12 modules on one database (CRM, sales, point of sale, purchasing, inventory, manufacturing, quality, accounting, treasury, fixed assets, HR & payroll, projects), unlimited users with no per-seat fees, a French and Arabic interface, and Fatoora TTN included. Projects are quoted according to the modules you choose, data migration and training, with an answer within 24 business hours. You can also try it free for 14 days on erp.nexora.tn.
